iD ADDITIVES TO INTRODUCE TWO NEW QUICKSHOTS® PURGE PRODUCTS AT NPE2018

EXPANDED PRODUCT LINE OF SINGLE-DOSE PURGE COMPOUNDS PROVIDES FAST, EASY PURGING FOR ALL PLASTICS PROCESSING APPLICATIONS

LaGrange, IL (February 6, 2018) . . . iD Additives, Inc., a leading North American supplier of additives including foaming agents, UV stabilizers, purging compounds and other products to the plastics industry, has announced it is introducing two new QuickShots purge products at NPE2018.

QuickShots products are single-dose purge compounds that come in individual packets. These unique compounds allow operators to purge their machinery by simply dropping the packets into the feed throat/hopper of their machine. They work with all resin types on all plastics machinery processes including injection molding, extrusion and blow molding.

The expanded QuickShots product line will include:

  1. QuickShots liquid in pouch (the original QuickShots offered by iD Additives)

  2. NEW: QuickShots HD (heavy duty), with glass prills mixed in for extra cleaning strength

  3. NEW: QuickShots SP (pellets in a pouch) – including new extra small ½ oz. version, ideal for lab lines and small runs. Alternative to liquid, some processors prefer pellet purge.

“QuickShots has been extremely popular since we introduced it to the industry in 2017,” said Nick Sotos, President of iD Additives. “Based on customer demand and feedback we decided to add these new options to the product line. The QuickShots HD is a heavier-duty purge product for tough applications, and the QuickShots SP is a pellets-in-a-pouch product for processors who prefer pellets over liquid. Also, we are offering the QuickShots SP in an extra small ½ oz. version for lab lines and small processing runs.”

“There is no simpler way to purge resin from a machine than by using QuickShots™,” said Sotos. “They not only simplify the purge process, they also reduce costs as you only use the packets you need for each application.”

Typical dosage is one ounce per 1” of screw diameter – so a 6” screw diameter would require the use of two 3 ounce QuickShots™. No soaking or temperature adjustments are necessary. Other features and benefits include:

-FDA Compliant and environmentally safe

-Works with any resin – no need for multiple grades

-Reduces the amount of resin required to purge

-Minimizes process equipment downtime

-Made in the USA

iD Additives is selling the QuickShots purge compounds in 1 ounce packets (boxes of 50) and 3 ounce packets (boxes of 24). Free samples are available by contacting the company.
